Rikio Taro - Shimebuto (12-Tab)

$44.95
Size Size chart 24

Blue Fighter for the larger leg!

These jikatabi are essentially the same as the Fighter model, but are a violet/navy blue color. Flexible, light-weight, durable and extremely comfortable. They have metal fasteners (kohaze) with four width fittings for a perfect fit. The separation of the big toe is said to have health benefits, as the flexing of the toe both relaxes and stimulates the brain.

Sizes: 24cm-30cm (See the Japanese Shoe Size page for Jpn/US/UK/Eur size comparisons)
Height: Tall boot (12 kohaze)
Fit: Shimebuto; compared to the Regular fit, it has an extra 1.5cm girth for the ankles and 5-6cm for the calves
Color: Blue
Material: Canvas, JRFMA rubber sole

Shimebuto!

The Jikatabi are an interesting take on footwear. By separating the hallux from the other digits, the hallux is able to dorsiflex to a greater degree at midstance which in turn roots the
base of the hallux with more inherent strength forming a stronger medial
arch. As for fit, the Rikio Fighter
Shimebuto model fits my high volume foot well. The available depth at toes feels shallow when compared to a model like the Rikio Hadashi. I am having alot of fun studying and using the various jikatabi I have purchased so far. If your first pair does not fit perfectly, play with the models and or sizing. The fit guide is a great reference baseline. Allow yourself some grace when choosing an initial size. It is a starting piont.
