Heutzutage ist Katanuki recht selten zu finden, früher war es jedoch ein alltäglicher Anblick auf Festivals. In kleine Zuckerstückchen sind einfache Formen eingeschnitten. Trennen Sie die Form mithilfe einer Nadel oder durch bloßes Geschick, ohne sie zu zerbrechen, und Sie gewinnen einen Preis!
Ein Beispiel für die früher in Japan so beliebten Dagashi-Bonbons. In jeder Stadt gab es einen Dagashiya-Süßwarenladen, in dem Kinder mit ihrem kleinen Taschengeld Leckereien kaufen konnten. Katanuki wurden oft mit Kami Shibai oder Wanderkartentheatern in Verbindung gebracht.

Shimebuto model fits my high volume foot well. The available depth at toes feels shallow when compared to a model like the Rikio Hadashi. I am having alot of fun studying and using the various jikatabi I have purchased so far. If your first pair does not fit perfectly, play with the models and or sizing. The fit guide is a great reference baseline. Allow yourself some grace when choosing an initial size. It is a starting piont.
