These monpe casual pants are hand-crafted in Japan by Watanosato. With an elasticated waistband and a drawstring, they can easily be adjusted to fit comfortably. Made with 100% Kurumeori cotton.
With its Japanese aesthetic and traditional production techniques that can be traced back to the Edo Period, Kurumeori fabric is the quintessential textile of the Chikugo region in Fukuoka Prefecture. It uses uniformly dyed yarns and is very durable and resistant to color fading because the yarns are thoroughly dyed. The fabric requires the techniques of skilled craftsmen as it goes through many processes before completion such as pattern designing, dyeing, twisting, warping, weaving, and sewing.
Took a while to come but now they’re here the trousers are great. Really well made and a striking style. They’re a gift so not yet tried on but I’m sure they’re going to be very appreciated
